*Roo is 100% greyhound

* He was born in Australia in 2009

* He weighs 40kg

LIKES: Roo really enjoys listening to people read – his favourite books include stories that rhyme and picture books about dogs.  He also listens well to world history books.  Roo loves neck rubs, walks and runs in the park, and sleeping.  His favourite treats are cheese and Schmackos.

DISLIKES:  Flies.

Roo lived in Christchurch until his racing career ended.  As he is such a lovely dog, he was adopted out through Greyhounds As Pets (GAP) – an organisation that rehomes ex-racing greyhounds around New Zealand.  www.greyhoundsaspets.org.nz.

Roo would like to thank all the people at GAP for getting him into a new home and to the Otara Library as a reading dog.  You are all awesome!  Roo also very much like to thank Gary; for raising him and bringing him to Auckland – Roo still loves to run, although he can’t figure out why his owners wave and jump around when he gallops through the mudflats and dives into duck ponds!

      Hi Ashley. Thanks for your message. Please tell everyone that knew and loved Roo down South that he is doing very well indeed and is loving being pampered by his new family. Roo sends love and belly rubs to you all.
